Manager's Message

Since our founding, Central Electric has been dedicated to building a brighter future for the people, businesses, and communities we serve. Our original mission was to bring electricity and new opportunities to our region, and today, that mission has expanded to include innovative programs that provide value to our members. 

As we close another year, I want to express my gratitude for your continued trust and support. Every decision we make—whether it’s delivering reliable electricity, investing in new technologies, or advocating for smart energy policies—comes back to one simple question: How will this benefit the members we serve?

In 2025, Central Electric made meaningful progress both locally and nationally. We worked alongside electric cooperatives across the country advocating for balanced energy policies, including improvements to the EPA’s Power Plant Rule. Our efforts helped shape a more workable path forward, protecting both reliability and affordability. We also supported federal permitting reform, pushing for faster, more predictable processes to build critical infrastructure and strengthen our grid. These investments will reach our communities sooner, preparing us for the future. 

We’re also seeing progress with bipartisan support for the FEMA Act of 2025, which aims to speed up disaster recovery for electric cooperatives and the communities we serve. Severe storms are a fact of life, and their impact on the electric system can be devastating. If passed, this bill would make FEMA a stronger, more responsive partner, helping us restore essential services as quickly as possible after a natural disaster.

Additionally, we’re proactively addressing our communities’ needs by supporting local schools through Bright Ideas grants and youth programs, assisting nonprofits through Operation Round Up®, and fostering positive growth through our economic development efforts. These initiatives allow us to make a positive impact in our members’ daily lives. 

Looking ahead, our industry faces significant change driven by rising demand, new technologies, and evolving federal policies. The path forward requires innovative thinking and member-focused solutions. I’m confident that with the dedication of our employees and your continued support, we are well positioned to adapt and meet challenges head-on.
